Healthcare facilities in York County are as diverse as the needs of its residents, with everything from top-rated hospitals to home health care, diagnostic centers and long-term care. In addition, the area is home to many physicians and specialists in all areas of medial treatment. Several urgent care centers are also available, along with a strong emergency response network.

 

Two health networks offer services in York, both with state-of-the-art facilities, providing quality in- and out-patient care at a variety of locations.

 

WellSpan Health System consists of two hospitals—York Hospital and Gettysburg Hospital with a total of 614 beds—six retail pharmacies and 8,000 physicians, employees, volunteers, board members and auxilians, all committed to providing patients with the very best in health and wellness care. It is a community teaching hospital with six residency programs, 123 residents, 400 medical students and a research center.

 

The Memorial Family of Health Services includes Memorial Hospital, Greenbriar Medical Center, Home-Care of York, Surgical Center of York, Memorial Behavioral health, White Rose Home Health and White Rose Hospice. These facilities combine to provide quality patient care in an environment that recognizes the rights and needs of everyone.

 

Not far from York County are some nationally known facilities, including Johns Hopkins in Baltimore and Penn State’s Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Hanover Hospital serves the greater Hanover area. Other special facilities, such as The Center of Aesthetic & Reconstructive Surgery of York and three state-of-the-art outpatient surgical centers are also available.
