The York County Chamber of Commerce encourages its members to be
involved in leadership of the Chamber and offers numerous avenues in
which to volunteer.
The following is a list of opportunities for
members to volunteer and support the Chamber's programs.

Ambassadors encourage new members to get involved through
participation. They are the Chamber's Meeters and Greeters. Their
primary responsibilities are to help in the retention of members, the
recruitment of new members and to assist at events. |

The Finance Committee reviews Chamber financial statements and investment performances quarterly. The Committee also finalizes the annual budget and presents it to the Board of Directors for approval in March. |

The ProBusiness Council acts as a business advocate and serves as a
liaison between Chamber members and elected officials on the local,
state and federal levels. The Council meets once a month to review
government issues affecting York County businesses and takes a position
when appropriate. Members receive the monthly electronic newsletter, Watchdog. |

The Chamber Business & Technology Expo is the premier event of its
kind in Central Pennsylvania. First held in 1981, the Expo presently is
held early May at the York Expo Center. More than 2,500 business
decision-makers attend this one-day event. Several sub-committees work
on the Chamber Business & Technology Expo. |

Marketing and sales professionals are encouraged to participate on this committee. The Business & Technology Expo targets businesses and their employees. |
Golf Outing CommitteeStaff Contact:Mary Walker, 717-771-4575 |
Each year over 200 people participate in the Golf Outing. The Committee is involved in planning the tournament format,contests within the tournament, prizes and food and beverage selection. Committee members are also encouraged to work the event as well as seek other Chamber members to become hole sponsors or donate prizes. |
Directors' DrawDown & Silent Auction CommitteeStaff Contact:Mary Walker, 717-771-4575 |
This committee meets three or four times a year prior to the DrawDown
which takes place in November. Meetings are held in the morning and
last no longer than one hour. Committee members review the format of
the evening, ticket sales (price) and the silent auction. Committee
members are asked for ideas for marketing the tickets and for
contacting members for donation of silent auction items. Assistance is
requested at the event to sell raffle tickets. |

The SBSS Committee plans Breakfast Plus and Lunch Plus meetings along with the Small Business Award program. The
Series provides resources to educate small business members through
informative seminars covering issues that affect small businesses in
York County. |

The Chamber's Annual Dinner Committee meets four to five times a year to plan the dinner which takes place in March. Meetings
are held in the morning and are approximately one hour in length.
Responsibilities of the Committee include: entertainment, invitation
and program design, theme, decorations, meal selection and marketing
ideas. |

The Customer Development Committee meets bi-monthly and focuses on
sales and marketing to identify ways to add member value and grow the
Chamber as "Your Source for Reliable Business."

create a path to connect the next generation of leaders with the
